oliver hos label wires returns soon with the third installment, >nothing ep< by raudive. this release sees oliver pushing the raudive sound into a darker area featuring industrial influences within the techno grooves. the ep starts off with >shiver<, featuring an organ drone overlaid with bursts of resonance and feedback, with the repeated vocal phrase, >the sun sets inside you<. next comes >>nothing<. a strange wood block sound rides over the heavy groove, with synth stabs and echoing vocal sounds, it is relentless and hypnotic. we continue with >sigil<, the combination of monotone bass and synth stabs with the strange primal moan produce a creepy groove, - gothic techno maybe... finally we have >dial<. the last track finishes the ep off with heavy drones and white noise feedback, bringing to mind the relentless tones of lou reeds metal machine music.

hypnotizing acid-ebm-electro-wave masterpiece from düsseldorf. tolouse low trax is detlef weinrich, one of the members of german band kreidler, dj and co-owner of the düsseldorf based club/bar salon des amateurs. tolouse low trax remixes noblesse obliges already fantastic >the great electrifier< into a mesmerizing and highly original blend of electronic dub and new-wave-like techno. the other three tracks are solely by the hand of tolouse low trax. his unique signature is all over it: teutonic marching beats with layers of spaced-out, dubby electronics. the perfect soundtrack for a german party in an african cocktailbar during a full eclipse in the middle of a coup d etat. fear and loathing in düsseldorf. highly original and an absolute must-have.

the lipservice bandwagon rolls into town with yet another musical extravaganza. we have put together a rather tasty single package of one of the standout tracks from chicken lips amazingly nostalgic >experience of malfunction< lp, including remixes by the main stem, zeefungk and the rhythm odyssey.

the opening track from the debut simon baker album was always going to be a strong choice to be the first single. no pressure has received unanimous praise since the albums release and is back with new remixes by art department and simon himself. its rare to get great stand out vocal tracks that dont split opinion, but this seems to be one of them. its slick, deep house of the highest calibre with a stand out hooky vocal from debukas. art department, owners of ras number one track of 2010 drop a superb remix, adding new vocals and teasing debukas back into the mix for a pretty special, hypnotic workout. simons >upstate dub< mix finishes things off. it aims things directly at the dancefloor in his signature, deep and twisting style.

come end of may, dancefloors will be overdosing on awesome music. legendary dirty man housemeister will blow out his third mother-l fucking-p >music is awesome< for the wicked, and rave will reign again. but you can’t just stick your face out into this kind of quality noize - it would mini-melt right off, see!? so housemeister took instant classic electro anthem title track >music is awesome< to some players and friends and said >look boys, i m putting out a smaller dose upfront so nobody will die on the dancefloor, now who s gonna help me save some lives?< everybody was in on this ep effort, of course.

tony ollivierra begins 2011 by getting down with the machine sound. bordering on acid-funk, this ep really gets it shakin. the title track jericho, reeks of the latter days of disco with a deep bass line that fades in and takes control of the party. a warm synth chord then kicks in along with some strings which build up to a peak time climax. nag champa captures a deep and surreal groove with a sweet aromatic feel that definitely is burning. the dark bass line entangles the listener in a sensual moment while a resonant synth riff tops it off. on the flip, midi aura begins with an uncompromising synth bass line that does not quit. the sequence bubbles onward and a thick chord sweeps through the arrangement opening up into a placid apex of harmony. the aura of this midi is feel good all the way. lastly jack box, another acid track that works the cutoff and resonance into a climax of delightful poly rhythm and melody. jericho will be a very limited vinyl press and will be the final project on the ibex music label. keep your ears open for his next label venture which will be introduced this summer.

aldo cadiz, chilean dj and producer, head of disco royal music and resident of santiago beats already crossed our paths with his collaborations with basti grub on desolat x007. he returns to desolat with solo productions and here you have chance to dive into aldo’s world of dance music where south american rhythms meet fragments of musical heritage of detroit. mastered with love by enrico mercaldi, the desolat x series continues to release raw tracks that literally invite the dj to play with loops, hooks and create something new. but you can also just put the needle on the colored record and let the groove treat your dancefloor nicely

after the brilliant work with tigerlily on the digitaline track >say so<, gregorythme teamed up again with the lovely singer and created another epic masterpiece. >no time no space< has the potencial to become one of this years big anthems, with tigerlilys great voice, the catchy melody and the unbelievable synthline staying in your head for a long time! kalabrese and lee jones both kept the epic feeling of the original. kalabrese added his unique funk and kind of a caribic touch to it. imagine a lonely beach with nothing else to do as watching the stars out there. lee reworked tigerlilys voice, combined it with a massive bass and takes it a step darker into the night, made for dancefloors and big soundsystems!

its been 2 years since benny rodrigues last release on be as one and since then, the young dutch producer has pushed forward his career, both in the studio and in the dj booth. having remixed people like josh wink, dj pierre, justice, spirit catcher to name just some and released on ovum, poker flat, figure, klockworks, with a busy dj schedule in clubs as berghain or rex, at his young age benny is clearly a well respected artist. benny rodrigues interpretation of acid house takes the form of i like acid, and surely it sounds classic! acid synth madness like in the old days but with an updated touch to rock the floors in 2011. choice hypnotic appeal will not get unnoticed on the floor, once again a track that finds its strenght in the basic structure of its arrangement, effective drums patterns with a freakish top line that carry the track into peak time. steve rachmad remixes as sterac are always a treat, and here the techno legend doesnt fail to impress once again with his take on bennys i like acid. snares, hi-hats, rides and bass, all arranged to build up to a melodic and emotional breakthru, dancefloor bliss for the detroit techno heads. to close this amazing package, germanys own mike dehnert brings his trademark sound to be as one in the form of his remix of i like acid. a tune that finds its perfect habitat in dark, smokey and sweaty rooms with massive sound systems.

toyfriend music brings you the real gem! bac 1-11 from j-t kyrke (naked lunch, impact mechanics) is an epic dancefloor bomb as you can expect from toyfriend. the remixes are strong as much as the original mix is. while bas mooy (audio assault, planet rhythm) leads the tune in more purist techno direction, mattias fridell (tonal path) rebuilds the track into dirty underground dub stuff. support comes from tom hades, eric sneo, d.a.v.e. the drummer, audio injection, hertz, gayle san, john karagiannis, dj hi-shock, lars klein.

figure pushes forward with a stunning 4 track ep from aspiring new french artist leghau, aka cedric rebagliato. he gave the tracks to len faki after a memorable gig in france, and len was so impressed he decided to put the record into production with a matter of urgency! leghaus sound is heavy, rumbling, precise and directly designed for club systems.

this features two very hard to find cuts from this african artist from the 70s producing stripped down spacey, lo-fi electronic disco / funk unlike any other nigerian music being made at the time and is still just as unique and relevant today.

the miracles club is a group from portland, oregon featuring members rafael fauria, honey owens and ryan boyle. fusing elements classic chicago acid house, world music, experimental pop and contemporary dance. they have been adding a new and vibrant energy to the west coast us club scene over the last 12 months. cutters records brings us the >light of love remixes< ep which has all the makings of a mid 80s house party except on the dance floor is a giant cosmic rug to float you through space and time. >light of love< is the psychedelic piano house jam from the deepest depths of a dank dark rave cave and cut copy have reworked it into an entrancing dancefloor gem. also included is a dubbed out house mix by new yorks ever-consistent neurotic drum band. and dont sleep, because on the flip miracles club journey into classic 909 house with two versions of their jam >so hot<. it feels like the second coming of jack, but believe… its the rise of a new dawn!

the three tracks for this release go through a wide range of our sound. >cyclone< by samuel dan and feygin is a throwback to the way dirtybird records sounded back in 2006, raw and fun with big drums. but >cyclone< sounds amazing compared to the sound quality of some of those old records we all love, a definite update to the old db vibe. b-jus >babbel net< is his follow-up appearance to last years bomb track >my sneakers< that all of us played 1000 times. this is more in the smooth 808 style of dirtybird while still giving you some punch and melody. this record works really well for me and this groove crossover into a house set no problem. last but not least is maelstroms >you play<. this is a real monster, not so much for the house heads but instead for those of you who like to cross genres and explore the bass regions during your sets. definitely not your friendly deep house record this one is a real db banger in the tradition of big dirty bass we love here in san francisco.

emerson todds second release on upon you. the likable new zealander who moved to berlin via australia seems to spend his nights dreaming of the homelands. the cover and title of release number 046 are both inspired by the original natives of new zealand. emersons specially crafted sound is somewhere in-between jungle and metropolis , wild with details yet still beautifully melodic. the a1 track, >you got to< proves that a piano can kick you and a lovely little digital-topping can then combine everything into sweet dub-ness. as to be expected, the b-side is also alive with the artists agility and perfectly timed and placed thing and what-nots to turn any dance floor into an intense experience

sandru is the name of the young argentinean, who made his debut on fievuntwintig and entered the playlists of catz & dogz, kiki, stephan bodzin or cumiks with his track >late night stories<. now it is about time for him to show how electronic awareness of life feels in south america with his >argentina ep< on ow036. he shifts sound aesthetics as well as emotions and his tunes move directly and incredibly intuitive into the listeners ears. dj-optimized arrangements, detroit techno harmonies and terrifically minimal techno grooves & rhythms make for sandrus >argentinia ep< to be one of ostwinds most true releases.

another pure remix 12 inch on falkplatz. mild pitchs dplay and irishman mano le tough took over the studio this time to create their interpretations of >i wont stop<, the track by subbroomassociation that was originally released on the >collabs volume one ep< on falkplatz_daten002. dplay concentrates on the vocals and distinctive hat patterns, building a warm, pushing and dark floorfiller around the original theme. mano le tough delivers a stand-out remix, in a slightly different mode to his past productions on dirt crew or mirau. here he pushes into the deeper layers of emotive housemusic. listen loud and have fun with this!

morphosis has been cooking. friends, nwaq & just for one day got on the re-whisk. these productions live up to all expectations from two of the most awe inspiring out there. turn them up. big tip! when this idea came about, there was some speculation here if it was a going to be plausible prospect. throughout all the deliberation one fact remained: re-workings from these artists would make the perfect precursor 12” to a full morphosis album, and it just had to happen. then it did. nwaq turns in one hell of a dub! an almost relentless 7.5 minute float, that’s underpinned with thriftily placed percussion, and a true beast of a kick drum. no build-ups. no break-downs. so, now… let’s all bow towards to the master. just for one day’s rudeboy drum palette is going to be familiar to more than a few people. let’s just say that this is the new guise of a veteran german producer who’s uncompromising music has graced some of the world’s most exciting record labels over the past 15 years. for this remix he hijacks the ‘android’s among us’ and throws them right into a sound system shootout somehow leaving the core elements from the original track in tact. seriously killer. for fans of 2 step, jungle & dr who(?). please note: this will be a vinyl only affair.

electronic duo blondes follow up their 2010 touched ep with lover / hater, a two track 12 inch inaugurating a three part series on rvng exploring duality concepts. recorded live to 2 track tape at atlantic sound in brooklyn, these set staples capture blondes at their headiest and deadliest. >lover< places a shamanistic meredith monk vocal sample atop a ritualistic rhythm, transporting the track to a trancefloor spirit worlds away. >hater< builds on cascading keyboard cycles before breakiing into an e2-e4 on the floor bounce.

after a string of hits on bitten, terminal m and saved records alex piccini and olderic turn things into magic on area remotes 29th release !

nice cat brings to your probably lavish sound system two beautifully strange dance cuts: side a is called >throw water into the lake< , a deep and earthy track sculpted by ricardo villalobos , los updates and anthony collins. on the flip side you can listen to the collaboration of villalobos and los updates. the track >i miss you so much< creates a really celebratory mood. this nice record is a collectable item. thats for sure.

geno records first release comes to you from belgium based dan d. dan comes from a traditional of both classical and jazz traditions. dan also developed a love of latin dance in his youth. once moving to berlin in 2001, dan was further influenced by the house sounds of the original panorama bar. dan himself has continued on to dj some of berlins best parties/venues including beatstreet, watergate, arena, maria, and the new panorama bar. club der visionäre has also been very important to dans musical growth. dan has had the opportunity to cut his teeth playing 10 hour marathon sets during his regular appearances since 2004. furthermore, he appeared in clubs like rote sonne (munich) and decadance (gent, belgium). friends like tobi neumann and dinky got him into production in 2003. dans first vinyl release on district of corruption lead to praise from some of the best djs in the business. the african market is quite an evolved sophomoric release for dan. the title track, african market, is a pulsating but stripped down organic percussive journey. afro-cuban rhythms lovingly exchange energy with warm analog synths and crisp techno electronic beats. the flip side, el baile, is a slow burning house jam. el baile features eerily reverberated studio recorded vuvuzela, crisply saturated jazz keys, and the same pumping afro-cuban rhythms that sets dans sound apart from others.

new cat on the astro lab camp, timothy j fairplay from the battant band, after good releases on kill the dj, andrew weatheralls rotters golf club, live at robert johnson tim gave us couple of great tracks with his best carpenter mood, it was so hard to choose, we took 3 of them and asked our favourite producer mr andrew weatherall to remix one, he turn the sleigh ride/blizzard into this slow techno atmosphere. on the b side astro lab zntn remixed >general arrived< and turned the original into an amazing dancefloor tune, something close to the optimos works.

up next on balans is a brazilian old school house & techno talent extraordinaire. he operates under the monniker betek and has only one release on black stripe under his belt so far. this is about to change, because he will be a regular on the imprint from now on.
hailing from beautiful rio de janeiro, you might not expect an artist who is dedicated to old school roland drumcomputers and bassline machines. betek clearly has a big love for the edm past, but takes it well into the new millennium with a fresh angle.
you can expect more of betek this year!

we are pleased to announce that one of our favourite producers justus köhncke has finally given in to the constant barrage of requests to work with us. yes, welcome to the rank of nang cosmonauts justus. he has kindly agreed to work on a new artist album for us for release in late 2011 / 2012 but in the time being we just had to pop the mans cherry and get some köhncke-tunage released on nang.
first up is an ep of two brand new compositions. fussmachine and renewal. we have also included a remix and wrapped it all into the fussmachine ep.

adam shelton & subb-an have single handedly made birmingham cool over the last few years with their infamous below gigs at the rainbow. >feel so real< reflects the duos work at its height. it is a classic sounding house record with familiar vocal hooks, warm chords and throbbing drums. it stands out from the crowd in much the same way fcls >lets go< did last year. is it old or is it new? old school sensibilities brought right up to date with cutting edge production skills. so it was with this thought in mind that we approached new 2020 signings fcl to remix. they have added their own vocals and developed the hook into a synth heavy workout. the pack comes complete with another track >inside my head< which features a line many will remember from nights spent at warehouse raves, one for the spotters.

number three in the dc reworks series drops with another three top class retakes on the music of the disco legend.
first up is the sleazy boogie-funk of >do you want the real thing< which is given the shakedown by underground hipsters richard sen & cazbee. over on the flip, portuguese man-of-the-moment social disco club deals out some heavily, uplifting discotheque vibes on >dancing with strangers<, while one of the leading players in the ny new school, jacques renault, works >i dont want to lose you< into a dance floor bomb. a superb addition to an already celebrated series of updated classics!

atas volume of the >life at robert johnson< mix-cd series wouldnt be complete with out a 12-inch. here you get two of the most extraordinary songs and mysterious corkers of his outstanding compilation. ramonaäs main man picked grauzone with >raum< and zwischenfalls >flucht< for this special plate. as this wouldnt be a treat in itself already, ata extended the pop arrangement of >raum< into an almost 8 minute long powerful ballroom blitz edit for all you new wavers and old romantics. always remember: the future was already yesterday, but the good times are always now
